HS-20USB 4-Axis Controller w/ Encoder Support The HS-20USB is a 4-axis step motor controller that can operate standalone or -- via its USB interface -- under the supervision of a host PC. It actually does a lot more that motion control and in many cases can completely replace PLC modules. For each of 4 independent channels it can 1) generate step, direction, and enable outputs for a step motor driver, and 2) process encoder, direction, and limit inputs. I/O's on channels not needed for step motor con- trol can be used for other purposes. Standalone control programs for the HS- 20E-USB can be written in an interpreted command language or implemented as ap-specific firmware.
